NEW CLIENTS

Welcome to Becca Berghorn Counseling! I’m glad you’re here, and I look forward to supporting you on your journey toward personal growth and empowerment. Starting therapy can be a significant step, and this page is designed to help you navigate the process smoothly.

What to expect

When you begin therapy with me, you can expect a warm, compassionate, and judgment-free environment. Here’s what you can anticipate in our initial sessions:

  • Introductory Call: We’ll start with a 15-minute introductory call, where you can share your goals, ask questions, and see if we’re a good fit.

  • Initial Assessment: In our first session, I’ll gather information about your history, challenges, and what you hope to achieve through therapy. This will help us establish a clear path forward.

  • Setting Goals: Together, we’ll identify specific goals for our work together, ensuring that our sessions align with your needs and aspirations.

How to prepare

To make the most of our time together, consider the following:

  • Reflect on Your Goals: Think about what you want to achieve in therapy. Are you seeking relief from anxiety, healing from trauma, or improving relationships? Having a clear idea will help guide our sessions.

  • Be Open: Therapy is a space for honesty and exploration. The more open you are about your thoughts and feelings, the more effective our work will be.

  • Ask Questions: Don’t hesitate to ask any questions about the process, my approach, or what you can expect from therapy.

  • My counseling approach is a highly relational style that focuses on attachment and brain science. Internal Family Systems is a key way I help people connect within themselves so they are better able to connect with others and integrate their brain to achieve a more satisfying life.
